Eid-Ul-Fitr is just a festival but also, a day that display the rich Islamic culture in Ghana. Ghana, is known by many as the home to multiple ethnic groups and religion but despite the difference in culture,

keeping peace is major priority that has made Ghana thrive for decades.

The sighting of the crescent moon in Wenchi (Bono Region) and Kumasi (Ashanti Region) on Thursday evening confirmed the end of Ramadan, paving the way for today’s festivities. In line with tradition, the Ministry of Interior declared Friday, March 20, 2026, a public holiday, allowing Muslims nationwide to participate in prayers and family gatherings.

A Day Of Payer And Gratitude.

From the early morning, the black star square has been occupied by Islamic worshiper dressed in colorful cloths, carrying mats and food as an act of charity . The imams sermon emphasized on the topic of giving gratitude to Allah for not just a successful fast but also, a blessed life. He urged the youth to avoid immoral risky behaviors and focus on acts of kindness and community services. That way they can give back to Allah, the county, their families and their communities as a whole. All this displays the extent to which Islamic worshipers can go just to show gratitude to Allah and people.

The atmosphere at Black Star Square was vibrant, with families dressed in colorful attire, children enjoying festive treats, and community leaders exchanging greetings. Security personnel were stationed throughout the venue to ensure order, while volunteers distributed food and water to worshippers.
